PROJECT: Inspiration Pop.2929 Film (Faith Based Film) – Non Union Talent requested

CASTING SPECS – Set in the small American southern town of Inspiration, the movie INSPIRATION pop.2929, follows a diverse cast of characters as they encounter the 7 Revelations and apply them to their lives. A young musician wishes to share his gift with a larger audience, a mother copes with the death of her daughter (a US Army soldier stationed in Afghanistan), a small business owner sacrifices her freedom for the safety of a young runaway, a mechanic finds a family by finding his faith, and a man and woman strengthen their marriage. All the while, a cast of mysterious teachers, share the Revelations with our troubled characters at precisely the right moments!

RATES: $ All speaking parts $75.00 + 10% Agency Fee per day/Full Day is 8 to 12 hours

Male Lead – AUSTIN - Mid 30s to mid 40s. Does not need a southern accent. Is from the city. Slender to athletic build. Role requires a confident experienced actor. Married photo journalist in a midlife crisis suffer from PTSD, and spiritually. He gets set on journey of discovery where he learns seven Bible based revelations of irrefutable success. Through them, he finds a renewed relationship with his wife, and God.

Female Lead – MARNIE - Mid to late 30s. Does not need a southern accent. Is form the city. Austin’s wife, out of place in her relationship with her husband. Marnie struggles to find that missing spark of love. A way to support her husband. Her experience in the town of inspiration and her husband’s spiritual transformation gives her the confidence to carry her child to term and begin her family.

Young Male Lead – JOHNNY – Actors 20 and under to play 17. Caucasian. Must sing, instrument (Guitar/Or Mandolin/Or piano a plus) Songwriter double plus. Southern accent possible but not required. Good / Interesting look and physically fit. No stubble at all.

Young Female Lead – -ARIEL – 17 and 21 yrs old (Must look High School, could cast older if they looked young). Southern accent possible but not required. Cute. Strong Acting Skills needed. Johnny’s Friend. She helps Johnny to find his musical spirit. All the while convincing Duke, her venue owning father, to give the kid a chance.

Female Lead – JULIET – 22-30 years old. Southern accent possible but not required. Strong comedic skills needed. Good solid Actor. A hardworking waitress who works two jobs to put herself through Cosmetology school. She brings a lighthearted tone to her scenes as she stumbles through the balancing act of planning her wedding and the looming pressures of her fiancée’s imminent deployment.

DUKE – Mid 40’s to 50ish. Strong physical presence. Southern accent possible but not required. Owns Christian bookstore, music venue, coffee and teahouse. He is a successful businessman but struggles to raise his daughter as a single father.

Male Lead – LEE – 30-40 years old. Good looking. Southern accent a must. Strong Acting Skills. An aw shucks truck driver and a non-believer. He struggles and fails to build a relationship with God and in turn fails to win the heart of Laura Ann.

Lead – LAURA ANN - 28-38 years old. Southern accent possible. Owns a coffee shop. Small business owner. Smart, Compassionate.

ALETHEIA - 9-11 years old. Strong Actor. Any ethnicity. Southern accent possible but not required. A foster child and a run away. She has a strong wit and inner strength to survive no matter what challenges life throws at her.

Female Lead – ROSIE - 50-60 years old. Owns a beauty shop. A widow who has recently lost her daughter. Struggles with her grief and loneliness in the world. She eventually finds grace in the understanding that it is more of a blessing to give than it is to receive.

Supporting Role – BARBARA – 50-60 years old. Rosie’s best friend, and co-worker at the beauty shop. She is strong and wise. Sensible. Leader of the Beehive Social Club.

Supporting Role – DANNY - 22-30 years old. Strong athletic build. National Guardsman. Youth Minister. Singer. Strong athletic build. Leadership qualities.

STREET SWEEPER- A wizened older man, who carries an inner peace that affects everyone he encounters. A TRUE Man of God. (Example: Morgan Freeman quality of warmth, depth and humor)

MANNY – Male, 50’s to 60’s yrs. old. Patty’s husband. Playful jokester. Likes to lay in tanning machines. Tan a plus but not mandatory. Comedic but not vaudeville. Very real.

PATTY – Late 50’s and up. Older playful jokester. Manny’s wife and complementary better half.

TAMMY – 40-55 yrs. old. Hotel owner and receptionist. Bubbly and sarcastic to a fault. Big energy and comedic.

BULL – 30’s and up. Large male. Spiritual, tough, and compassionate, yet he is a tough hardened criminal in prison. Has a Strong sense of duality, and possible inner strength. A man of God.

DEPUTY MAHONEY – 24 and up yrs. old. Classic cop/Sheriff look. Any ethnicity.

ORDERLY – 24 and up yrs. old., Male or Female – Any ethnicity. Any build. Trying to find the person with the right heart. Strong and compassionate with the ability to teach. Could be young and athletic and could be older. Character has strong faith.

FATHER OF JOHNNY – Late 30s and up yrs. old. Caucasian. Match to Johnny.

JUDGE – 50s and up yrs. old. African American. Male or Female OK.

SHERIFF NEIL BRIGGS – Mid 40s-50s yrs old. Perceptive. Charming and Southern. Investigative nature. Says one thing, but may always be gathering information.

STREET MUSICIAN – Male, late 20s and up. Open to all ethnicities. Looking for the right soul. Needs to play the Harmonica(preferred)…or Guitar. Character with strong faith and actor with the ability to make a teaching moment real.
